Sheldon's ideal home

Sheldon is looking for an active home with a family who are confident with big, bouncy breeds. As Sheldon likes to be active and has a busy brain, so an active household is a must for this boy and his energy levels. Sheldon gets very excited and playful around other dogs, so will need to be the only dog in the home but would benefit from having doggy friends to meet with to continue and maintain his socialisation skills. He cannot live with cats or other small animals. Sheldon needs patient owners who match his energy and who are willing to put the time and effort into giving this boy the attention he needs to thrive and develop into the fantastic dog we know he can be. He enjoys company so much and would like his humans to be at home for the majority of the time while he settles in to family life. Sheldon is still a young lad and can get excited and use his mouth during play, so he would be best suited to a family with children aged 16 and over who are confident with boisterous, playful dogs. He will need access to his own secure garden, the bigger the better! New owners will need to meet Sheldon multiple times during his adoption process to build a strong bond, so please bear this in mind prior to applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required if you are shortlisted.

A smart, friendly and enthusiastic boy, Sheldon the 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Husky cross is an absolutely gorgeous boy who is so full of joyful character and cheeky charm. Sheldon has lots of energy, so running and exploring on fun adventures outside are important for this boy. He has the best time when he goes on long walks in our woods and bounds around our big field like a playful puppy! Sheldon is a bright lad who is so keen to learn and please his handlers at the centre. He engages beautifully in his training sessions and is a joy to work and play with. He does everything with his whole heart and wants to be involved in everything. He knows all his basic commands and has bags of potential to learn lots more! Toys are a favourite for this playful guy, he loves to play with them on his own or with you, often trying to fit way more toys in his mouth than he has space for! When meeting other dogs, Sheldon gets very excited, bouncy and extremely playful, but sometimes forgets his manners and can be a bit full on. Sheldon enjoys food and treats which will be a great tool for enrichment activities and for his ongoing training. He forms really strong, loyal bonds with his humans. He is always happy to see people, giving everyone waggy hellos, usually sitting himself on your feet with his tail slapping the floor and his big smile looking up at you, leaning in for a fuss. Sheldon is a fantastic dog, and we have no doubt that he will bring lots of fun, laughter and love to a very lucky home!
