This boy is a typical crazy energetic staffy bundle of love. He came to us totally emaciated but through the love and care from our staff here, he is now a healthy weight and loving life. He can be mouthy when over-excited, although he has improved with this, his new owners will need to continue this training. He loves sniffing on his walks, however he is best suited to somebody who does a lot of quiet walks, as a busy dog park or canal walk is too overwhelming for him. When Barry is overly-stressed, he did show some reactivity towards other dogs, however this has been worked on at the centre, but it is something for his new owners to be aware of as he settles into his new home. He can become strong when walking past dogs, but he will move on with a cheese lure.Once settled in his new home, Barry has the potential to be left alone for a few hours. To teach him to settle, the staff have worked on crate training him, which he is getting very good at. Again, this will need to continue in the home. As with any dog that comes from kennels, we cannot say whether he will be house trained or not. We will provide you with tips should this become a problem. Barry will need to live as an only dog in a house where there are no other animals. He does not cope in busy environments, therefore we are looking for somebody who ideally lives on their own, or a couple who do not have a lot of people coming and going.
