Description

Boss's ideal home

Boss is a delightful, affectionate older chap who came into our care through no fault of his own. He's a very friendly boy and could live with primary school children. He is used to visitors to the home and loves to welcome them in, geting very excited when they first arrive, but soon calms down. He could live with another calm dog, pending successful introductions here at the Centre, and once in a home would benefit from regular meets and walks with other dogs to build his confidence around them. He really isnt keen on cats, and will pull when he sees one, but otherwise he does walk very nicely on lead and loves to be out exploring and sniffing. He is not used to lots of car travel, but will settle in the car, especially if someone sits with him. Boss is house trained and will let you know when he wants to go out, but may need gentle reminders and encouragement with this once in a new home. His own private garden isn't essential as long as he has regular access outside,, and he could share a communal outside space once adopted. He is not used to being left alone, as he just loves being around people, but once settled he could be built up to short periods alone of around an hour or two.

Could you be Boss's perfect match?

Boss is currently spending his time staying with one of our lovely foster families whilst he waits for his forever home. He enjoys a couple of walks a day and has recently been out walking with a local group, where he is slowly gaining his confidence and making some doggy friends, but can find large groups of dogs a little overwhelming at times. Boss loves everyone he meets, and would love to find his forever family, where he can relax and find a warm sofa (or lap) to curl up on. Since coming to us, Boss has been treated for a skin condition which has greatly improved, and further details can be discussed with Centre staff. Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Staffie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
