Description

Barry's ideal home

Barry is a sweet, playful boy who loves people and just wants to spend his time with them. He’s not one for lots of snuggles though as he doesn’t really like being handled much at the moment. This might just be due to being uncomfortable with his skin condition, but he’d still best suit a home where the youngest are teenagers that will respect his wishes. We are currently treating Barry’s skin condition and will keep any potential adopters fully informed of any ongoing requirements. We’ve not mixed him with other dogs yet, but from a distance he does appear to be happy and playful.

Could you be Barry's perfect match?

Barry is a 5-year-old Staffy with the sweetest personality despite his circumstances. He came into our care with no previous history and very bad skin. His perfect family will explore new places with him, play with him and understand that he might not want snuggles and will show his affection in different ways. Given the lack of information we have for him the basics of home life such as housetraining and time left alone will need to be introduced to him, and he’d love his family to be around all the time to begin with. He does get into a car, but we don’t know what he’s like when travelling. Barry just needs a family who will give him time to settle in and is up for plenty of play! If that sounds like you, why not add him as a favourite?

Staffie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
