Description

Peter's ideal home

Peter is looking for a home where he can enjoy his golden years in a peaceful and calm environment. He would be best suited to a home with older children aged 16 years and over who will interact gently with him and give him lots of space for his snoozing and relaxing. He would prefer a home without other pets as he prefers to be the only dog in his home, but he can have polite and calm walking buddies for strolls and sniffs. Peter has lots of his basic training, walks nicely on his lead (unless he sees a cat!) and is housetrained, so he will be quite a fuss free addition to a home! One thing about Peter, he does tend to bark when he is excited, especially when saying hello, so adopters will need to be prepared for these happy barks now and then! Being an older boy, Peter does have some stiffness in his joints and takes a daily medication to help with his symptoms. Our team will talk through this with his adopters to see if support is available once he is adopted. Peter can cope with short amounts of leaving time, up to around 4 hours and generally just enjoys a nice quiet snooze. Peter will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes between 7 - 10 days.

Could you be Peter's perfect match?

Peter is a 14 year old Staffordshire bull Terrier who has come to us through no fault of his own and we would live to see him back in a loving home to enjoy his retirement years surrounded by all the love he deserves. Although he is an older gent, he is still quite active, enjoying a gentle stroll every day where he can plod along and sniff to his hearts content! He loves a tasty treat and if he is given something special, he will carry it off to his bed to enjoy it in comfort! Peter is such a distinguished gent, and will make a lovely addition to home, giving everyone all his love and letting everyone know how happy he is with his funny old boy barks!

Buying Checklist

Staffie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
